Buying in Germany is only a trend, any Irish dealer could beat that price!

What would the vrt come in at anyway? What could be considered the open market selling price?:p. If the revenue agree its 1800000, the vrt would be 648000e!

Surely a that price you would be better off buying a house in its country of origin (or other non VRT charging country) & running it from there? €648k would buy a handy 2nd home surely?

EDIT: I see it is in US, still though you could drive it on your Californian holidays! I see they are also selling a Pagani Zonda Roadster, a snip at €920,000...

The interior is bah... Not a fan of the color but still it seems very basic. I wish there was a big 7" screen with all the features (GPS, Bluetooth, DVD, ...) on that bloody thing for 1.8 Mil.

Erster Produzierter Veyron mit Serien Nr. 1. Tachostand 400 Meilen.

First ever produced Veyron, serial number 1, 400 miles on the clock

You wouldn't drive that one much I reckon :D

If you were stupidly rich I actually think this would be a decent investment. They cost something like £6m to build, so each one is a huge loss-maker for the maker (is it VW?), and they will be very, very desirable for many years among the super wealthy.

Would anybody really pay the VRT on a car that expensive. The phrase 'Bollox to the taxman' comes to mind. I mean, the tax on that thing, would be at least another million.....

have been looking for 1 for the last while but the milage is a bit high. think ill wait another while:)

    Bah, it's an automatic.:p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,842 ✭✭✭roosterman71

I'd have thought that thing would rev much higher than 8000. I mean, its capable of 254mph!! And has 7 gears. Must be a huge range for each.

Why would you want it, its left hand drive and its a 1.9tdi with intercooler, suppose you could always chip it!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,943 ✭✭✭Tropheus

You can get them in the UK for a lot cheaper than that (less VRT). That price is outrageous.

It's a 2009 car so VAT applies also. That's the killer for me.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

It sure is. The seller is banking on the fact that the car has the numero uno VIN and that it hasn't really been driven at all. It will go to a museum for sure.

there was supposed to be a Veyron in the west of Ireland last year - only one in the country (they were talking about it on Today FM - last summer I think)

Imaging spending that much cash on a car - to use it on Irish Roads !!!

I don't like that colour scheme, same as the car that was crashed in the UK.

The VRT will be the same, about a million! Well that's what Cunningham Higgens said it was, but then the car was never registered here was it.

IIRC it didn't stay on Irish soil long. There pics of it in the Here's What I saw today thread, only a few pages back.

Its like concorde, there will never ever be another car like the veyron.

    I WANT ONE!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 34,809 ✭✭✭✭smash

Very underwhelming in the metal lads. I can appreciate it, but have no desire to have one. I'd rather a Koenigseeg or a Zonda to be honest.

disagree completely.. veyron is a work of art.

it doesn't rely on mad looks like the other two..

    pagani-zonda-f-roadster.jpg

even leaving performance aside, i rather the looks of the veyron by a mile..

I meant to say "I can appreciate it" but I'd rather something else.

i dunno if i could say i'd want something else.. the only class of car i'd prefere might be american muscle cars.

+1 on the Veyron being a work of art.

TBH, the Zonda has gorgeous lines, and again it's a fantastic car. But the Veyron is in a different league altogether I think. I have a car book from the mid to late 90's and there is a picture of a concept Veyron. I must dig it out and get photo's of it.
