Possible fuel injection problem. What to do?

    Hi all,

Not too knowledgeable about cars at all. Was on the way to work this morning and the orange light in pic below started flashing. When I stopped at traffic lights, the light went out. When I accelerated, it started flashing again.

Did some research earlier and it appears it's related to the fuel injection system, I think.

On the way home tonight, it was constantly on when I turned on the ignition. About 5 seconds after accelerating, it would start flashing. When I take my foot off the accelerator, it would stop flashing but remain on. The car was quite sluggish and "jumping" sort of on acceleration but not mis firing.

The car has been unused for about 2 years and has been on the road about a week now [You can see about 77 miles on the clock]. Got it fully serviced at the weekend and NCT passed a few days ago.

When I started driving it again, the fuel gauge was almost in the red [but not quite there] so filled it up. Mentioning this as maybe some dirt got into the system.

I think I've outlined the problem as much as possible but feel free to ask questions.

How much trouble is my car in?
Will is cost much to fix [if it needs fixing]?

It's going to be impossibe to make any sort of diagnosis without reading off the codes, it could be a problem with ignition or fuel delivery or any of the sensors not doing their job correctly.

What type of car is it, for curiousity's sake?

As captain slow rightly said, It can be any number of errors. Unless you can hear the engine mis-firing, feel excessive vibrations then I dont think it's an injector. You'll need to go to a garage (any mechanic) and they'll generally charge 40-50euro to diagnose the problem. After that it could be something trivial or it could be serious. Either way get it checked soon. It'll only take em an hour to look it over.
Don't panic. The car will continue to run but its best to have it seen to sooner than later

I'm going to try find a local [Naas] Fiat place tomorrow and see what they say.

If I were to Hazzard a guess its a blown coil pack.

Better off getting it to a mechanic as soon as possible though.
