mattress disposal

Does anyone know how to correctly dispose of a mattress in Co. Wicklow? We have a 40yr old single mattress that has definitely reached the end of its life but I can't find anything on the wicklow or bray council websites about how to get rid of it in the correct manner.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I'd say give the Recycling Centre in Bray a call and ask them, I'm sure they'll know.

I bet if you put it on an adverts site as a freebie stating its state of repair you will get someone that will take it from you for free.

Or you could just leave it in the field beside the FCA house at Churchlands like some other scumbag did!

Well I meant give it to someone who will actually need it. I'm sure no one would bother to collect something like that only to dump it.

Sorry, not trying to get at you in any way, merely pointing out what some lout did with their mattress. I got rid of a mattress with dublinwaste.ie recently (although it did come with a bed!).
