Car servicing.

    Hi Guys,

Want some advice. I have an 07 Seat Leon. Last year I got it serviced in white bishop for its first service. The light (which im sure is date driven) came on to remind me it needs another service. This is its first full service...
So i rang around and provisionally booked with a well known seat dealership in dublin.
I was told it would cost between 250 -270 euro. The car has 15,000 kilometers and its two year warranty is due up next month.
I was told the service includes, oil, oil filter, airfilter , and probably not plugs given the mileage, and then 140 euro in labour. Is 250- 270 reasonable for such a service ?
Am I mad to be considering a main dealer ?

    Thanks

    Agent_smith.

Was thinkin the same thing , mine is due a service in a few weeks. Did you get that qoute off a rathgar dealer by any chance?

Il definitly needs my plugs done but I am increasingly thinking I should do the service myself and save some green.

That's crazy money for a basic service. It depends if you want your book stamped by a mian dealer?
Personally I would use an independent garage

That's alright for a main dealer price
You could get cheaper around, now only depends if you want some "official" service history or not.

Now in essence, as long as this is done properly and you have an invoice and a garage stamp (Dealer or not), that's all that matters.
