Great van, I've sold loads of them and they give very little trouble. How much are you being asked for it and we can say if its value or not?

I've got much the same engine in my 04 Peugeot 407 (1.6 hdi) with 74k
    with no problems.
i have heard of these engines reaching to 200k...:)

Not sure if the focus has a dpf (diesel partical filter) as the need to be changed at 100k on the 407's ....
Getting between 48-53 mpg from my 407 which is good for a heavy car...:)

    Abit of light reading..... http://www.tdocuk.com/search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&keywords=1+6+tdci+1+6+tdci+focus&start=15

If the incorrect engine oil is used ....any turbo can fail...:(

The 1.6 engines have some issues with failing turbo's but alot of it may be due to oil not been changed frequently enough and again the correct grade of oil not been used..:)
I use Mobil 1 5w30 esp which works well with dpf's...;)

My father has the '05 1.6 TDCi Focus Van. It has 135k kms on it with no issues apart from 2 cracked intercooler pipes which then put blowpass oil over the engine.... Messy. I think that the '06 has revised pipework to stop this ...

I think its the Peugeot engine with Ford management and looms which is good news as froggy looms are decidedly bad at the best of times.
