I was thinking during the week how hard it out there at the moment to sell car. So i had a dragons den kind of moment. What if you could bring your car/bike to a large open field/carpark and swap it with someone?

Obviously a bit of bargaining up and down would be required but would it work? Or does this allready exist (not the internet)?
    Would anyone be interested??

You'd want some kind of "negotiation chamber" midst this phalanx of parked cars. Perhaps a hemispherical construct where onlookers can climb the outside to look in.

    THUNDERDOME!

Let's say 100 people show up = €1000 to the organiser (probably untaxed), for supplying a field and some marketing?
Boot sales are free to enter because they're usually on church parking lots.
Perhaps you could charge successful swaps?

Do you have to bring you car or can you just go look around at all the nice cars?

I've always liked the idea of car swapping. I know a lot of people who buy a car every year just because they want a change. Swapping would be cheaper and then maybe after a few years buy a newer car.

I always thought something similar would work for selling cars privately. A date and venue is arranged, a few hundred sellers shine up the cars they are selling and bring them along, and prospective buyers can spend the day browsing a field full of cars. Categorise them as much as possible, maybe stick them up on a website a week before the event. Charge the sellers a fee to sell the cars, buyers get in free.

Would be good for both buyers and sellers as far as I can see. Buyers can go see a few cars that interest them in one place like a car supermarket, sellers get people out looking at the cars in the flesh.
