Does anyone else play it anymore?

I know alot of you are turned off it by the whole registration and numerous other problems, but most of them bar the registration have been sorted. I've not seen any glitchers or lag in a very long time. The new expansions are brilliant too! Great maps and characters:)

Anyways, yeah. My MGO player name is "rookypanda" :cool:

Atm, I'm level 0 but this is a new character. My old one was a level 5-6:)

Aye, myself and noodler have been known to play quite a bit. Killzone 2 has been occupying my MP time lately, but I'll add ya LiNgWiStIkZ and try to catch you in game sometime.

I agree anyways, the game has certainly improved since I first started playing in January. The SCENE expansion maps look great, I bought it but I haven't played on any of the maps from it yet! I'm still level 5 though, heh.

MGO has a lot of really cool gameplay modes so it's worth people giving it a shot again to see if they like all the improvements.

Trophies are going to be added to MGS4 and MGO at some point this year so I'm sure we'll see all the trophy whores online then!

I bought the last two but noticed I never get a chance to use the new maps becasue the necessary servers (the expansion pack servers) are alwys empty.

Its great fun, a unique online experience.

Yeah I thought so, I was watching the fiance's little brother playing on them and they looked class. They're quite different from some of the already existing maps. Maybe I should set up a game later or next week and we can give them a shot? (If not the SCENE maps, the GENE/MEME ones).

I still play it quite a bit myself, I think the SCENE expansion was a good addition.

I'm a lvl 9/10 myself(keeping jumping between the two)

I don't plan on buying Scene anytime soon tbh GP. Will play a few next week irregardless though.

I used to play alot... But some people are bastards at it, everytime i turn a corner i get headshotedededed. Pisses me off so much that i stop playing it for months.

Totally understand, you need to save up for a PSP As I type this I have 3 PSPs beside me to hack, heh.

My mate doesn't have a notion how to get on MGO so can anyone help me help him? My brother set it up for me but I don't have MGS4 anymore. Anyone know the website link where you sign up? And is it possible for me to sign him up and he can go online?

You'll have to register in the game for a GAME ID and a KONAMI ID. The KONAMI ID you can do on the PC, but AFAIK, the GAME ID can only be done in-game.

Hi, is this wishful thinking or do you have a source?

If so, hope the trophies are backdated, as it was bloody hard doing the
Perfect_Playthrough, on Big Boss Extreme.

Still play MGO, great fun.

I especially like the Stealth DM.

A Konami rep on the official Playstation Blog basically said that they were listening to fans requests and were 'looking into it'. I'd expect something to be announced between now and E3, whether they will be adding them or not. It does seem odd though for one of the PS3's flagship titles to not have trophies, so I'm optimistic.

I dount the trophies would be retroactive though.

Yep, they've been pondering this since it came out. Hopefully they'll release them!

Anyway, back to MGO. I'm a level 6 now, and I've set up a clan called "Panda Bears". Join if you don't take the game too seriously and play for fun:)

Play it quite often myself, mostly weekends now though due to college. SCENE is a great expansion, really like the maps. My user name is Hank Hill, level changes between 10 and 11, add me if you want a game some time.

i would play it but i only have version 1.00 and when i try download version 1.31 it takes hours. i had it downloading today for about 2 and a half hours and only got 15%. is this cos i havent downloaded any other versions?

Yeah that's why. If you have the latest version when a new update is brought out it wouldn't take as long to download

MGO is possibly the most infuriating online game ever made... I don't know how people play it for more than 30 minutes at a time.

Right I've decided I'm going to try and get back into MGO. I'm only level 5 though, I'll have to practice more. Oh and join the 'Panda Bears', lol. What do I have to do to join?

The gameplay. The only 3rd person online shooter i like is Uncharted 2 multiplayer, i have passionate hate for Gears of war and MGO (even though i love MGS4 :P). It's so slow and awkward and the aiming the weapons is a pain in the ass.

That's exactly how I felt when I started, but I kinda just got used to it. Aiming with iron-sights isn't that slow, although it is much slower than other TPS/FPS games. I like that though, kind of makes the game more tactical. Some of the gameplay modes are just awesome though, like team sneak. There's nothing else like it at the moment I think. Some of the maps are pretty cool too.

The only online games I seemed to find are the "kicking lumps out of each other" variety. I thought I had dropped into WWE Raw at one stage.......

I have the Asian version of the game and I don't think I can play online because its a different version in a PAL area.

Would that be true?

Also the first time I tried online MGO this time last year it had to do some install thing and after 3 hours it was on 15% !

ya that happened me too because i didnt download the previous versions so i downloaded it in blocks of 10% which still took about 6 hrs and eventually when it finishes and im all excited about playing online the ****ing thing says my free character has already been used......Bummer:o

Awesome, what's your player ID? To join the Panda Bears, you must have one thing. A sense of humour! The clan is all about having fun and not caring TOO much about ranks, levels and emblems. Anyone can join, I've only got one other person in it (and 2 others who are yet to get MGO). Sooner or later then, we can play Survival and Tourny, if you want!

Fairly small, but it depends. Before an expansion they'd be pretty big, but I don't think the regular ones are really ever over 50mb. Would take 5-10 minutes usually!

Yeah, the servers are localised unfortunately. The JAP servers are pretty good from what I hear, so you're lucky.

MGS4 is being released Platinum soon, so you'll have no excuse for not getting an EU version

Meh, i've had the game since launch day and i'm still level 4 or something... the ranking system in is to do with kill/death ratio.. So that's only bad news for me!

The only bad thing about levels I find, is that some elitists will kick you from servers because you're not in the teens. I'm only level 6!

The guys with the lower levels usually are the friendliest

But I think I cant play at all because it takes a ridiculous amount of time to install something at the start, thats why I've never played it

downoading the update never worked for me since day one, either by the fileshare or direct download. so i gave up

As I said before, Konami has fixed a tonne of problems in MGO, so it might work now..
