This year, I will drive from Kansas City Missouri, down to Arkansas over into Oklahoma before heading up to the state of Kansas and across into Colarado, Utah, Nevada (Vegas Baby:eek:) before travelling up through Nevada and exploring lake Tahoe and heading across into Cali before eventually stopping off in San Fran a few days back in NY before home to Ireland. I have begun planning but am not sure if it is too much to do on my own as I usually travel alone. If I never again see a spanish resort or hear the word costa it will be too much in my lifetime.

who did you book that with?

We didn't book a tour or anything. We're in the planning/booking stages at the moment. We have booked a return to San Fran and are building on that. 3 internal flights thru ebookers. (I did fancy driving but my friend was having none of it!! :D) 5, 4, 3 and 2 nights SF, LV, LA, SF respectively.
I did look at the options available on American Holidays etc but we kinda fancied doing our own thing.

(Although now, with the talk of Aer Lingus looking at maybe cutting down next winters trans-atlantic schedule, i fear this trip may fall on it's head before we've even finished planning )

Slovenia. We started going in 2006 and loved the mountain scenery, the people, lifestyle, prices etc. We bought an old place with a wonderful mountain view, fully refurbished it to a high standard and nowhere else feels as good now! Check it out at http://www.heronsplace.com.
