Has anyone else come across something similar, my mechanic reckons it might water getting in around the spark plugs, he says…

Hi,

I've got a 2005 ford focus and a lot of the time it's very sluggish starting off, i have to keep the key turned a good while before the engine actually starts(you can see i'm very technical).

Has anyone else come across something similar, my mechanic reckons it might water getting in around the spark plugs, he says there's no cover on them to prevent this.

Any ideas?

i had the same problem
check ur window washers, afaik ya can get them with a rubber seal on the bottom

There was water gettin in around the plugs. My mechanic has seen it before with the focus. Plugs and cables had to be replaced, no problems since. He also sealed up around the plugs as Ford couldn't be arse doing it so i shouldn't happen again. Been going sound for 3 months now
