MS Small Business Server 2003 Question...

    Hi folks,

I'm trying to get my company website thats running on ASP.NET 2.0, that is hosted with my web hosting company, to use a connection string to connect to an MS SQL Server 2005 database that is running on my Small Business Server and is located in my factory, which is connected to the internet through a broadband connection. The idea is to allow customers track work in progress in the factory, which is tracked on the MS SQL Server 2005 database in the factory, by logging onto the company website and using a connection string from the remote website to run an SQL query to pull data from the server remotely and display it to the customer on our website...

At the moment, when I try to connect to my Small Business Server, using the IP address of my local Small Business Server in my factory and a username and password, the connection is being refused.

I'm wondering is what I'm trying to do actually possible??? I know there is a feature called Remote Web Workplace for folks to log into a profile from home, but what I'm trying to do here is quite different...

Thanks in advance for any advice...

Sounds like either a firewall issue, or SQL Server is set to refuse remote connections.

    Maybe this will help...
