Cancelling Flight

    Hi,

Just booked 3 flights an hour ago but something has happened that means we can't go. it was booked with Ryanair and I know I could just ring the credit card company to cancel the payment going through but would that cause any trouble down the line with Ryanair like them forcing me to pay for the tickets or would I have any future problems booking tickets with Ryanair?

    Thanks for any help...

The credit card company won't cancel the payment to Ryanair unless Ryanair have done something wrong or you lie to them and tell them they have.

Your best option is to contact Ryanair and see if they will refund you or let you change the flights.

could u go the same dates just a different month?

l'd say they would change them if u said u put wrong month in by mistake

No definitly couldn't change the month at all. Think we might try the credit card route, hopefully that might work.

Or you could just suck it up, get the taxes refunded and learn from your stupidity?

I wouldn't have put it quite as succinctly as MagicMarker but you won't get a refund from Ryanair - they don't refund anything that they don't have to - period.

Do you have any travel insurance that you might be able to use?

The bank won't reverse the payment just because you've changed your mind.

Chargebacks are used for fraud cases, or when something untoward has happened. You bought tickets that Ryanair clearly stated were non-refundable.

Even if they do agree to do a chargeback for you, it's unlikely that it would be won.

You booked them you pay for them. Its not Ryanairs fault you changed your mind.

I would say your chances of getting anything back are 0-1%

You booked and in doing so agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions. Lying to your credit card company is fraud, a criminal offence.

Best you will get is a refund of taxes, minus an administration fee.
