Couldnt fit the text in so had to double post soz :p

Ehh basically I've got an alesis io 14 Audio interface, Rokit Rp5s , an emu xboard 49 , Cubase LE, a good PC and various guitars and amps (but no mics)

    Had a few questions though:
Would my glass desk have any effect on my sound?
Would the bump in the left wall have any effect?
And last but not least what would you recommending upgrading next?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dom

Good idea posting your room picture.

The first thing I'd guess is that monitoring is sounding very uneven ? I'd imagine that the left side is bassier than the right. It's likely your left monitor is coupling to the corner making bass unpredictable and boomy.

Maybe the first rule of monitors is keep them far away from the walls as possible - probably not a option in a bedroom situation though.

However what might work better is at least get symmetry, possibly rule number two !

Depending on your set up and taking it we can't move the whole rig further into the room I'd try and move the table out of that corner and further up towards the middle of the room (perhaps putting the drawers in the alcove instead?)

Whilst not ideal (you're still up against 1 wall, but better than 2) there may be a couple of gains in this-

    1. Symmetry - the space either side of the speakers is the same (ish) which should even up the sound of he left and the right.

    2. As the bed is behind you now it will probably act as a bass trap/absorber in some fashion.

That's a lot of 'if's' but might be worth a try.
