everyone on boards wants to start a blues rock band. where are all the non blues musicians? anyone out there want to play good music? anyway i'm a drummer looking to join or form a band with musicians in the dublin area. pm for more details. thanks

Just because you dont like blues does not mean it's bad !! :rolleyes:

Anyway I'd say the vast majority of posters here are looking to start indie/rock bands. Scroll through a few pages if you doubt this.

I'm actually interested in forming a band at the moment. I'd be into Foos and that kind of music and so I like a drummer who can hit it hard. I was interested in what your intentions were.

I know nothing about you based on your OP, "anything but blues" isn't enough information for me.

I'm no longer interested in this particular collaboration, but for future reference it'd be handy to know what style you play (or prefer to play) as well as your age, whether you have your own transport, previous playing experience etc. etc.

I'ld much much much prefer listening to a blues band than another indie/rock band or even metal.

there should be an oul limitting qouta on indie bands, there can be far too similar far too often!:P so i presume he's given up on this thread or parts have been censored?

It's bizarre - on one side you've loadsa people saying that the record companies are in the red cause of illegal downloads and on the other you've millions of "indie" bands.

Assuming the indie part stands for "independant" as in independant of the big record labels. Maybe I got my missonceptions wrong though.

I'd have no problem if the whole forum were looking for indie bands. To each his/her own. I took issue with the OP because just when he happened to post, there were a few blues threads, so he assumed, without checking out any other pages, that the majority were blues threads.

eh no chief, britney spears is on an "independent" label- the term Indie is being used these days more to describe a certain style of music (bland, inoffensive, silly haircuts and clothes), the record companies just bandy this term about so it gives the impression that the band is somehow cool..or something

I'd be up doing a non-blues band dude, eric clapton sucks...gary lightbody is a way better lead guitar player

i don't know where everyone got the idea that i wanted to do indie. i don't remember ever saying im looking for an indie band. all i said was not blues. there's still plenty of other genres out there isn't there?

You still have not told us what type of music you are interested in

"Good" music means different things to different people.

at first i didn't care what music people were interested in. i'm in to loads of different types of music and i wanted to play with musicians who aren't neccessarily into the same bands as me. i didn't want people making such a big deal over nothing but its now become a big debate about me playing indie music. the post said pm for details because i couldn't have been bothered to write out a lot of details at the time. forget it.

With the sole interest of trying to help out the OP in their search:

Bathroom, how about naming 5 bands/albums that you're into? Listening to, playing, whatever... That way you might get some replies from like-minded people.
