Jobseekers Benefit Question

I’m currently receiving jobseekers benefit for the last 7 weeks. I will receive it for 42 or 46 weeks before I lose it. I think I’m not receiving it for the full 52 weeks because I also received it for about 3 weeks in January 2008 before I found a job after being made redundant. As you can see I’m having a bad run of it.
Anyway my question is this. If I find some temp work that will last me for a couple of months and sign off from the jobseekers benefit, will I then be entitled to sign back onto the jobseekers benefit for the remainder of the 42 or 46 weeks . It may sound like a silly question but I decided its probably best to find out because of the fact that I wasnt approved for the 52 weeks this time even though it was a full year before i lost my job for the second time.

    Thanks.
