Hi. I applied for Job seekers benefit On Thurs 26th feb because my working hours wre reduced to 3 days a week from 5. I worked 3 days a week first 2 weeks then i worked a full 5 day week. Then i went on a 3 day week again. I Had all the slips filled out correctly and signed and stamped and sent into my local welfare office. I Have now recieved a cheque for €102.40 for the pay period of just the 3rd week i was on a 3 day week. I have recieved nothing for the first 2 weeks. I know i lose out on the first week but i am then covered for the second week onwards so why have i recieved nothing for that? Is the €102.40 payment i got for my 2 weeks. I tried ringing the office lots of times but no one will answer...GRRRRR! Thanks for any info. I know its a bit confusing!

Just to clarify something for you

The first claim that you make will exclude the first 3 days only (your 1st week with 3 days) . The payment of €102.40 is for the second week that you signed on for.

Check the dates that are mentioned on the payment slip and that will tell you the exact dates paid for .

if this €102.40 is your first payment then it is for your second 3 days off.

it might be just the backlog in the system and it is taking a few weeks more than normal to get sorted out which might also explain why nobody answers the telephone calls
