few questions about jobseekers allowance and being self employed

I went in and applied for jobseekers allowance a few hours ago but some questions slipped my mind. 1. Any idea of time lengths before i'd get a dole payment? 2. In meantime is there any way i can get any payment now to keep me going til my application is sorted :)

"it depends"

If you go to your local relieving officer they usually sit in the local health board center's etc they should be able to give you a cheque to tide you over
