Anyone seen this? I watched it last night and it was really good.

Scarily similar to the Jamie Bolger case, does anyone know if it was actually based on that?

Seen it last year on CH.4, very good.
Strongly influenced by the Bolger case among others.
Andrew Garfield was excellent, made it very easy to sympathise with his character, even after it was fully revealed what he'd done. Having said that, what he did, along with the other boy, was nothing compared to what those two little scumbags did to James Bolger.
Garfield was also excellent in Red Riding on Ch.4 recently

Aye, was showing in a small arthouse cinema near here at the weekend. Extremely difficult film to watch but very powerful and will leave you thinking it over for a long while.

Definitely inspired by the Bulger killers though it's interesting to see another perspective on that, far removed from the hysterical mob mentality of the tabloids.

Acting-wise, Peter Mullan is ace as always, and Andrew Garfiled portrays Jack perfectly.

The one thing which didn't sit easy with me during the film. I think they copped out a little by portraying the victim the way they did.

I always thought it WAS based on the Bolger case.
