Sampled a few coffeeshops - Ninth Street Espresso (9th and 10th street branches) and their new house roast - Alphabet City Blend - a custom blend from Intelligentsia (replacing Hair Bender). Also tried their cold brewed Iced coffee - which was nice, but no better than the home-made…

Just back from a wee holiday in NYC.

Sampled a few coffeeshops - Ninth Street Espresso (9th and 10th street branches) and their new house roast - Alphabet City Blend - a custom blend from Intelligentsia (replacing Hair Bender). Also tried their cold brewed Iced coffee - which was nice, but no better than the home-made stuff tbh. Brought back a couple of bags of Alphabet City Blend, so if anyone's curious let me know and I'll donate a half bag or whatever.

Also Joe (the art of coffee) on Waverly Place - cheaper than Ninth Street and probably just as good on most accounts. Gorgeous Iced Mochas (I know - a crime to some!).

Stumptown are still to open a roasters and coffeehouse in NY this summer, in the new Ace hotel on 29th and Broadway.
