Disposing of Oil/fuel filters?

We have started servicing our own vans and machines in work, the local recycle centre are happy enough to take the old oil, but not the filters. Where do I go to properly dispose of these? Cheers

I'm just back from recycling engine oil at my local place in Tramore and they have a bin for used filters. I suppose some do and some don't, good on ya for caring about it.
