The headset that I got with my xbox seems to have stopped working. Anyone know where I can get a better one, and how much they would be? Thanks

In any game shop they should have them. I thinkk they're about 20 quid. You may have to get them in a box with something else though, like the keyboard. Try wireless headset. Its probably a bit more money though.

Get a brand new one free, delivered to your house if you ring Microsoft. Then they have a stupid procedure to make sure its actually broken

I've broken a few normal 360 mics over the years. They're just too flimsy and also kinda block the game sound in one ear. If your pocket can stretch to it, get yourself a Turtle Beach headset. I grabbed an X4 from them last Christmas and I really can't express how much they improve your whole gaming experience... wireless 5.1 surround sound in a headset with built-in xbox chat... last time I was that impressed, was when I upgraded from the original xbox to the 360... seriously!

They're not cheap, even the standard stereo headset they do is expensive but I believe still well worth the money. Here's two sites that deliver to the UK and Ireland, I don't think any high street retailer stocks them in Ireland.

I have a brilliant set of Tritton's AX360 too but I'd recommend the Turtle Beach X4 for anyone who uses voice chat as they automatically adjust game volume to allow you to hear voice chat better plus a little of your voice is filtered back into the headset so you don't end up shouting down the mic. The Tritton's probably have clearer and sharper surround sound though and perfect for anyone not that interested in voice chat. As far as I can tell, stay away from the Astro headset, it's not in the same league as Turtle Beach or Tritton.

All I can say is if you can bring yourself to part with the cash, you won't be disappointed.

Hi just a quick question on the tritton, been looking into getting a set from the US, can you let me know if they require power convertors, was thinking of the ax pro, any info on this would be greatly apprecated. also are there any difference's in the uk version???

If it does require a wall adapter because it's american, it'll only cost about €3-€5 for one. So it wouldn't be too concerned about purchasing from the states. However, have you checked the shipping costs? It may just be cheaper to get one from one of the UK based websites that I mentioned above.
    Either way, you'll love them

Thanks for reply TheMooseInNam... Did you get your axpro/ax360 from the uk, if so did you require a stepdown ac converter to use it over here or did LIME supply you with them ( axpro requires 2 ac adapters ). ? This is the only concern I have between making my mind up between UK or US. Thanks.

I tried to order the Tritans from the limexbox360 link above. When it comes to checkout it only offers 1 delivery option for Ireland and says that the weight limit has been exceeded for this method. Also their T&C's say they only deliver to UK, and Channel Islands, Scotland etc.. will incur additional charges. No mention of delivery to Ireland :( Suppose I'll have to ring them and ask them to quote delivery by courier.

Also, I looked at the X4's as an alternative but not too keen since I've read a couple of reviews where people have complained about background hiss. Regardless, it seems other than ordering the X4's from ebay in the US, noone, even Turtle Beach has X4's in stock :( Seems to be an ongoing problem since December. Amazon in the UK are particularly bad and keep pushing out the dates.

At this stage I might end up buying a set of sennheisers and pluggin them into my TV. Blasted HD amp has no headphone input.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40 RafoLordOfWars

Ok did the maths and its works out like this.......

    The US.

    http://wurl.ca/?r=2bl + http://wurl.ca/?r=2bx *2 = 165 euro

    The UK.

    http://wurl.ca/?r=2bw + postage ( £6.50 ) = 187 euro

Im going with Lime for peace of mind and hopefully quicker delevery time,
I will update the thread when I have them........

Sorry for the bump, just wanted to thank you for this link. My headset broke the other day and was gonna splash out about €80-€90 on a set of x1's but did a search to see if anyone on boards found them cheap anywhere else.

Ordered a refurbished set from Lime yesterday for €35 incl. delivery and got an email today saying they've been shipped. They come with the same guarantee and return policy as a new, boxed pair, so can't complain.

    Nice one.
