Hey all. Sorry for being a broken record or anything similar, but these last two months have been sh1te...

And it's all due to money.
Last month i had my birthday, and i was planning on going out to celebrate. This was in the very first few days in March. Turned out i didn't have any money. I have a steady fulltime job. Apparently i had roughly 300 euros in overdraft due to Direct Debits.

I share an apartment (which i agree is too expensive. About 950 split 2-ways in the centre of the city.) But now my roommate just told me she's moving out. The lease is due in the end of april, and here i am. Again. With an overdraft. I get paid monthly and i already have an overdraft.

I feel like crap and really don't know where to turn. I could ask her for her share, since she isn't sure on when she is moving out. I wanna leave this overpriced apartment, but will anyone rent a expensive apartment these days? No.

They say money can't buy happiness, but it sure makes me sleep better at night, knowing i don't have an effin' overdraft.

Hi first of all having an overdraft or other debt is not a life sentence and is very common these days. Most of my friends have overdrafts and live in them month to month.

First thing to do though is a budget. Write down your incomings and all your outgoings. If some bills are variable then err on the side of caution and over estimate.
Include money needed for bus fairs / food / coffees. Ok? That figure is your living expense. That's how much it costs to live like you. Can you reduce it at all?

The figure you have left when you deduct your outgoings from your incomings is your disposable income. This is how much you have to live on to enjoy yourself. Divide it by the number of weeks each month to give yourself a weekly budget.

Your lease is up at the end of this month so why not start looking now for somewhere to move into 1st May. Find somewhere cheaper or get a new flat mate and haggle to reduce the rent. (I've just reduced my rent by €150)

    Mate...its not that bad

I have €36k of unsecured loans including €5,400 into a €6k overdraft which I have no hope of getting out of this year. I pay €1,700.00 per month in loan repayments and now I have just been put down to a 3 day week with the loss of €991.00 net wages per month.

I am now moving back with parents for awhile (I am 30..!!)

Fcuk it..its only money and my fault for getting such debt. I am making serious efforts to cut it down though.

Try to do some serious budgeting and stick to it.
