    Hi,

Basically just quick query bit of history iv been a virgin until recently. Had sex with my gf and well condoms really didnt work out for us so were thinkin of not using them next time shes on the pill. Basically shes had sex twice before and wore condoms both times. My question is would their be any need for us to get checked out before we have sex again? Also if have to get checked out what does it involve because i really dont have a clue. Thanks if have any advice

Because you have not had a sexual partner you dont need to get checked. Correct me if I am wrong people

But if your girlfriend has had 2 she should get checked. Women are suppose to get smear tests this should have spotted something I think but again girls can correct me on this.

If anything comes back positive on your girlfriend then you need to get checked if its contaigious.

    Hope this helps

Actually Joey you're not correct there.

He has slept with his g/f who has had two sexual partners. Even if she wore protection there is still a very very small chance she may have contracted and STI.

There are several sti which a condom can not protect againt.
Yes your gf should go get tested, it's the only way to be sure.

Thats what I said, Get his GF checked and if she comes back with something he will need to get himself checked. was I not right????

But if she comes back with nothing he will be fine. Was I not right ???

    Confused????

===== Corrected below on the smear test - thanks ==========

A smear test is not an sti test and a dr can't tell a woman has any of a range of sti by just looking while giving her a smear test.

I bet neither of you have anything but sure why not just go and get checked anyway. You can get it done free at the guide clinic in St James Hospital. It's a good habit to get into when you're starting to sleep with someone new

That obviously depends on whether or not either of you have an STI. None of use can tell you that

You should be able to get an STI test with your local GP

STI tests are going to be a fact of life in your adult life so now is as good a time as ever to learn about what is involved.
