    Hi guys,

Im trying to resize my external HDD. The drive is formatted in FAT32 at the min and has over 500gb of data on it. I want to create a partition on it in the NTFS format. I want to put some files larger than 4gb onto the drive. However, as this is not possible using FAT32 i need the NTFS partition

    Thanks in advance
    Ritchie

Simply. How do create a new partition in the NTFS format on the external HDD?? The vista disk manager doesnt allow me to shrink the drive.

You can get utilities capable of converting the entire filesystem to NTFS. GParted I think is the name of one such utility, you download the live CD image, burn it to a cd then boot into it, it should pick up the external HDD from there.

Another soft, however comercial, but my favorite is Paragon Partition Manager will do what you need.
