Fees question

I've wondering if anyone here can offer their advice on thre following problem:
Ok I'm currently attending a course(I'm in my first year) ,that I hate, and I have now decided that I want to drop out and re-apply through the CAO and do another course.

Now I'm aware of the current system, where since the gov. has paid my fees for my first year, for my second course I have the pay the fees for my first year, and for the rest of the years the gov. pays the fees.

Now regarding the proposed re-introduction of fees, I hear that students already in College will not be affected by the proposed system (and the gov. will pay until they finish the course ect ect).

So how will I be treated?

Will the old system still apply to me in my case? Or will I be treated as a, fee paying, first time applicant for college for the academic year of 09/2010?

Your help would be muchly appreciated here!

No idea. And I'm not trying to be smart - the Minister for Education hasn't released the full spec. of his proposals yet, so it's impossible to say right now what's going to happen.

Keep an ear out over the next two or three weeks though, I think a week ago he mentioned how he'd be bringing it to the cabinet soon enough.
