Somebody tell RTE we're in the middle of a recession.

ffs have RTE no social barometer. The shows they have on have no relevance in the present climate.

Brides of Franc: They've been promoting this gimp all week. The wedding for the "D4 daddy's little rich girl" types were grotesque enough during the good times. Bit harder to stomach this vulgar display of wealth.

Dragon's Den: Set up a show where supposed business leaders invest in small companies at a time when the SFA says that they are closing down at a rate never seen before.

Showhouse: Again airy fairy interior designers wasting money on pretentious sh1te when noboby in the construction sector is building a shed.

No Frontiers: Send all the RTE staff away on a holiday paid for by the taxpayer, well license payer. So glad I dont pay it.

Christ I'm in bad form today.. maybe I just head back to bed..

Those shows are pure ****e, no doubt about it. However any and every other current affairs/news program won't STFU about the recession. Same with the fcukin Afternoon Show.

I was expecting the thread title to be sarcasm tbh, I'm sick of RTÉ going on about the recession.

Should somenody tell RTE we're in the middle of a recession? I don't think anyone told them the last recession actually ended :pac:

Perhaps Off The Rails: Hairshirt Special, No Frontiers from Trabolgan and an episode Nationwide where Michael Ryan brings us up to speed with a survivalist enclave from Leitrim would be more to the OP's taste?

I dont do sarcasm, sorry, but looking at the post above I think Robbo could give it a shot.

Those shows might be commissoned for:

Brides of Franc: Ryan Tubridy if he gets married again

Dragons Den: Pat Kenny - heard he was looking for an idea for a new job

Showhouse: Maybe Gerry Ryan in case he gets a new gaff

No Frontiers: All RTE high paid employees - they have to get ideas for their holidays somewhere

Aha I think RTE we're listening to me .. There was a special "Recession disclaimer" on tonight before the Designs For Life program saying "this program was made at the height of the property boom etc etc."

Thank you RTE paying attention to my post. Please read my other post about getting rid of Tubridy.

Franc & Dragons' Den both mention the recession (way too much on the latter too).

I don't see what the big deal is though. Why should we be jumping on the bandwagon creating misery. If these people are out there, and exist and are willing to be filmed then what's the problem? There is plenty of doom & gloom else where on RTÉ.
