Anyone been in there or know anything about this place, Its down in the building that was once T&C motors and then it became some sort of restaurant. I only noticed it open during the week. There is a temporary sign up over the door and the word casino is definitely wrote on it. I remember posting about the planning application for this place in a thread last summer but at that stage planning had been refused, but obviously it was overturned on appeal.

Here is some info from around the time of the application, and here are the case details overturning the decision from An Bord Pleanala.

What are peoples views on this?

Just more of a slot machines place. The next major casino to come into the town will be by wise park/behind revolution

Oh do tell, is this a new building or going in to an existing unit

business into the city is always welcome, but personally i dont like the location, it will probably be another eye sore to add to the place. If i had to redesign the key id put a park effect with trees and grass, not very profitable but at least some of the quay would look nice. Instead of being a huge parking garage.

I thought this was objected to ages ago? As in, the council said no?

But the applicant had the option to appeal that decision, which they did successfully.

Very stupid. Total eyesore, and will probably be populated with the tramore freddies crowd - 12-15, stupid, loud, irritating, and being left in there by the management because ****ed if anyone else will be bothered spending their livelihoods there.

The door to it is very very small tbh, you'd hardly know the place is there. Although how people have the money to be throwing away is beyond me.

We could do worse in the city then having a tip top casino could draw in people Etc but if it is a hole then IMO its just not needed.

People will always have monet to gamble.

There's a lot of criticism about other people's hobbies, isn't there?

Are the people who like to gamble not good enough to fit into your postcard view of the quay like? Off the high horses and cop on.

I'd personally like a real gaming arcade to open up in the city. Might bring a little cheer to all the doom and gloom.

Can't say whether it's worse or not as that varies from person to person and it's harder to see if a person is a trouble gambler or a drunk. I don't think this is really the thread to talk about the merits of Gambling though. Plus if you're in a bar you will be told when you've had enough and must leave...you'll never be told to leave a casino unless you've given them your last dime. I think that there are far more meritorious businesses that can come into this town and personally I believe that one seedy amusement arcade is enough for such a small town (wannabe city).

Maybe in theory. As long as you aren't actually causing trouble, they seem happy enough to keep taking your money however drunk you are.

I guess they'll keep taking it off you until you physically look like you've had enough. Bars definitely don't continue to serve obviously inebriated people/

Haven't seen this. Only the gaming hall behind dooleys. Not into slot machines and gambling etc but whatever like. Long as it isn't an eyesore tis fine by me.

Noticed a 'nice' crowd of heads having a smoke outside here yesterday. Gives crap impression to anyone coming into town unfortunately
