    ok guys,

im changing my car from a 206 to an altezza next month, ive been getting different quotes online for past few months, and 123.ie were the only one giving me the closest thing to a decent quote(€1500) because of my age(21), i had 3 penalty points and everything was okay-dokay, looking forward to changing, however today i get pulled over by copper for textion on fone, he says ill get fine and 2 points, so 3+2=5, so i rush home and try to get a re-quote off 123 but they wont requote me with 5 points  devestated!!!!! the next best is britton €3500(better check them lotto numbers).... so anyone know what the deal with 123.ie will they not quote any new customers with more than 4 points. anyone know? really want this car.........

Well if it were me I wouldn't declare points to insurance company until I actually recieved a notice in the post to say I actually had them. Go with 123 sounds like the cheapest quote you got so far.

The reason they probably wont quote you with so many points is that you fall into the high risk group and they dont want to be paying out loads of money to someone you hit while you were texting on the phone.

And you should try getting a quote by calling them on the phone(not while driving;))ill bet its a differant quote than what you get on line most of the time its cheaper.

Don't declare the points until you officially get the notice. There'll be a delay in processing them and they'll be there for a fixed period from whenever they're officially added so why should you claim to have points that you officially don't have right now...

Also, online quotes are a niche for the lower risk driver. If you fall outside that category based on points, accidents, what you drive, etc, you'll have to phone around for quotes.

I got a quote from them on a Teg Type R and it was very good, I emailed them and asked if it was a quote for a Eruo Model or Jap and this was the reply.

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately we do not cover
Japanese imports under our scheme product.

Strange they quoted a Tezza because they wouldn't quote me on an Ek9
Type R, I assumed because they only come as an import, same as the Tezza.

I agree with everyone else, technically you dont have the points on your licence yet so say nothing and get the policy before the points get issued. Then when it comes to renewing your policy next year it shouldnt be a problem (providing you keep a no claims bonus for the year and get no more points!)
