    I don't think I've laughed that hard in a while :D

From my own experience, the SDI is just shocking, TDi is the only way to go. Which year are you looking at? If it's the older shape (mid 90's - 2004) avoid like the plague. I'm 5'8, and couldn't put my seat back far enough, and on top of that, the pedals are offset to the right, which causes a lot of pain in your left knee.

The 0-62 on an SDI Golf(same engine) is 22.5 seconds. So if you can live with that then go for it

A worthy contender to the Caddy is the Transit Connect, the TDCi model is around 90 Bhp, and you can get them with an electric pack, aircon, and more importantly, a passenger seat which folds completely flat to allow for longer loads to fit in. Plus, you can get the Transit sport, which for a van just kick ass :

    Get a TDI unless:

    1) you want to be late all the time
    2) you're not quite sure about VW reliability

    I'd take the chance!

when you say the caddy "SDI" is that the exact same as the seat inca "SDI"
I am thinking of buying a02 inca in the next week.
I want good miles per gallon but I want a bit of power too.
I dont know which I should go for a inca "SDI" or a straight 1.9D
    Any help please?

If you are looking at a specific car then maybe start a new thread as more people will see it rather than bumping up threads from 2 years.. mods hate that.. :D

The caddy and the inca are identical in every way aside from the badges.

Whats your understanding of 'straight' 1.9d? The SDI's are a non turbo diesel and are lethargic on the road. You will use more diesel then a TDI as you have to rev it harder to keep up with normal traffic.
