    Hi Jim

There are these two sites in the UK where they may have a replacement original remote for the SLX TV which will allow you to use the menu button and get into the tuning menu.

    http://www.avukltd.com/brand/SLX.htm
    http://www.remotesrus.co.uk/remote/make/SLX.htm

    Hope this helps :D

    C'mon Fat-Tony you're only jealous

OP, you say you've lost the manual but I assume you have the remote?

I would suggest hitting the menu button until you see an Installation menu and go from there.

Otherwise a model number of the TV would be somewhat helpful...

model no. SLX 14 S3*. the buttons on the tv itself are an on/off button and programme and sound adjustment. i do have the remote. there was a sequence to get the tv to begin tuning but i cannot remember it.

thanks for all of your input.

Try Dimpco, as SLX was their brand and they distributed it. Service may be able to look after you. There was also a brand, iDEAL (maybe ESB shops) that was similar at the time.

I'm aware of the one you're on about, but can't remember how to tune it atm. If I can remember (easier if I saw the remote - a small thin black one IIRC), I'll repost.

Right. Press and HOLD the menu button (first, picture menu pops, but then it will change to a channel table IIRC). Now, I can't fully remember, but from the channel table, it maybe be possible to Autotune/Autostore (the menu should say somethign about pressing a coloured button to Auto tune/store/scan).

If not, press Menu button a second time, this will bring you into the manual tune menu. From here, use your up/down/lef/right buttons to navigate in here.

Let me know how you get on.
