    Howdy all,

After 8 years of no exercise, cigs and booze, i'd like to try and get fit again. Is there any team in south dublin that somebody with my background that could start training with without it killing me?

Or a social league or something?

Where in South Dublin are you based?

Dundrum/Churchtown area at the moment, may be moving shortly but will be in the same region, Dundrum/Churchtown/Goatstown/Sandyford. Any clubs around there would be good

Have you played before? Kilmacud Crokes have a team in the lowest division in Dublin but if you have played before you may be more suited to a higher division

I played underage back home up to 16/17 (8/9 years ago), but i damaged ligaments in one ankle and was out for 6 months, only to do the same in the other ankle a few weeks after coming back. Haven't played since.

I have had pretty much no exercise since then, so the lowest division may even be a bit much for me now physcally.

That Crokes team isn't made up of people who don't know what a football is!:mad::mad:

Most of the team have played football for years and are 1. just out of minor/2. coming to the end of their playing days. Training is good and there's a good team spirit, so I'd say it would be a good place to go!

Cheers for clearing that up! I doubt i would be up for to the training though if thats the case :(. As i said the base fitness i am starting from is zero, wouldn't have a hope against young fellas straight from minors (i know myself when i was 16/17 would have taken me now to town in a training match)

    Any other suggestions?
