    Hi guys n gals,

I aint a drummer and I am finding using loops and ultrabeat in Logic very frustrating and time consuming.

I just got a demo of addictive drums and it seems pretty good to me, but before I make the plunge and buy, I thought I would get your thoughts and recommendations.

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

i demoed BFD2 and thought it was outstanding but in the end i bought Superior 2 as its a little less complex than BFD2 and im no drummer. Still sounds beautiful though and the latest xpansion "the lost new york studio sessions" is unreal!

I have Addictive Drums and find it brilliant, it has made a world of difference to the speed I can do drum tracks in. The midi files are a Godsend and you can create your own kits including effects.
    Go for it, highly recommended

I'll second AD, great sounding samples.

They're bloody slow to release expansion packs though...BFD is far more extensible.

BFD. Can be a bit of a CPU hog .

Superior 2,EZ Drummer, Addictive Drums, Strike,Stylus etc are all great in their own way. Depending on what you want, you cant go wrong with any of them. Take care and check minimum specs for your computer.

Simple rule , the more complex and more RAM needed=fast computer

I've bee using BFD for a couple of years and find it excellent for my needs -esp the Slingerland kit with the "room" fader up full. VERY Albini. Nice.

I just got NI Komplete 5 though, which has Battery included in it. I'd always written off Battery as an electronic music tool, but CHRIST it's good. The acoustic kits included with it are wonderful and it's also very adaptable.

Other than that, I've had great results from the onboard kits in Sampletank 2.5 -great little VSTi.

Hey folks, Thanks for all the good advise it's greatly appreciated. I think I will go with AD. I have been messing around with the demo and really like how it works.

Dennis, I recently upgraded the ram on my Mac from 2 to 4 GB and it makes such a difference to the performance. I would highly recommend doing this to anyone who is on 2 GB. It only cost me about 50 Euro and you can do it yourself in about 10 minutes.

Thanks again guys (and girls, are there any girls in production land?)
