i want some suggestion here...on bidding on merlin auctions, naas
    i have liked a 2006 toyota corolla
but my budget is max 5k
now i am not sure if i can bidding offer on this car within that 5keuros.

so how do we know what is the minimum bid?
any idea to guess the max bid?

also can we bid on more than one car?
is it 1000euros per car deposit for bidding?

You would be doing well to get that for 5k.

No, just one bidding deposit but be sure not to buy more than one car unless you want more than one car :)

Most auction houses put reserves on cars which means that is the minimum bid they will accept for them. If the reserve price is not met they tend not to be sold but it really depends on the seller.

Even from an auction in the current climate I'd be very wary of a 06 Corolla selling for €5k. The used car market is in dire straights at the moment but they are not giving them away yet.

To be honest OP if you are asking this type of question then maybe you would be better off going to a few auctions first to see how things work before actually bidding on anything. While the quality of cars going through auctions has improved in the last year or so due to the credit crunch there still is alot of junk going through that would have been sold somewhere else for more if they could have been. Also be careful not to get sucked into bidding too high for a car, there are alot of strewd customers at auctions.

You won't buy a decent 06 Corolla at Merlin for 5k. I bought a 05 one in Merlin a week ago and I can tell you it cost me a lot more than that. If there was a proper 06 one I'd expect it to make 8000 plus fees, or upwards. The trade will bid and buy them at that level, so there won't be anything at 5000. Worth 10k euro plus at a retail sale all day long.

There is a 06 black 5dr there at the moment. However I strongly recommend you go to Naas and look at that car prior to bidding. It is dog rough, needs a lot of bodywork, and possibly a left hand front door. Also it looks like the Strata model in that it has the bodykit, but alloy wheels missing (swopped onto another car before repossesion maybe?). I stopped looking at it at that point so there could be a lot more issues than that, given it was abused. It was being bid to 6500 on Wednesday if I remember correctly, and I don't think it was sold.
