Budget Barcelona!

26-03-2009 9:03pm#1In the process of trying to organise a few days away for myself and the current beau. Barcelona has been mentioned to me subtley by herself a few times so I figure we might as well wing it catalonia way.
I've flights for the two of us to Girona with Ryanair for €50 each which is cheap enough. However what is proving to be very sticky is accomodation. Its absolutely outrageously expensive anywhere I've looked. The closest thing I've come to reasonable is an new Ibis hotel (http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-5944-ibis-barcelona-22-opening-01-apr-2009/index.shtml) which is looking for €160 in total for 2 nights. Despite being 4km away the Ramblas (which I presume is the centre of everything there from reading some threads). Thats a 30 minute walk which would become pretty irratating I'm guessing.
Maybe I'm just out modded when it comes to hotel prices but I'm kinda put out them. I was hoping to do the trip for a bit less than nigh on €300 for the 2 of us.

Lol. I take it that when you say that herself mentioned Barcelona that you are a fella? Beau means your boyfriend!! Hahaha
Anyway man, €160 is not bad at all for a hotel for 2 for 2 nights. I'd expect nearly €200.
Try camping or self service places if you want to save more money, but I wouldn't know where to look.0 -
