Have you ever found money on the ground? How much was it?

I found 50 euro years ago on the way to my local shop....yes, it was amazing. I went straight into town and bought Halo! (when it was first out)

I found 40 euro in the handbag of a terrified old lady. Six months in Mountjoy I served for that one. I later found 60,000 Samolians in the back of a well-manned Securicor van. Six years eating porridge for that "unpleasantness".

Funny that. I lost €50 some time ago in your local when I was there to buy the latest issue of Hello!

The money in my Mother's purse that she'd stashed for a life-saving operation. Back in my heroin days.

Also 50 quid in Stephen's Green (the park) last year.

    About €350.
Found a wallet with no ID in it.
    Yes, I kept it.

I was walking out of my house one day and €20 blew right up the driveway and landed at my feet. I was broke at the time, so it was a nice present from god. And he did smile upon me that day.
    Book of Terry. 1:20

It's pretty depressing when you are lucky enough to get the first reply in a thread, not to mention with what i thought was a killer joke (one i only said so i could get a line of "thanks" from varous posters and impress my friends in the pub on saturday), only to find that a bunch of comedians were thinking of the same joke only better than mine. I think there's a connection with rising suicide rates in young men and the introduction of the Thanks system on boards. You murdering bastards.

    The miserable bastard.
The rules are that when you are with someone and you find money, then you split it.

My best friend an I found 14 grand worth of cheques payable to superquinn when I was a young un near his Granda's in Wicklow. There had been a robbery in Naas and they had taken the cash and thrown away the rest. Got a 200 pound reward and a viking racer at the time. Probably twenty years ago now.

When I was working as a steward on a passenger ferry we would sometimes find wallets and purses on the ship ( as well as bank notes ) which had more to do with people swaying backwards and forewards, because of the rough movement of the ferry than anything else .So we would look for the persons ID then call them on the ship's tannoy .However sometimes the wallet or purse would be found when the person had disembarked from the ship and there might be no ID inside .I did find £70 in a samll purse once with no ID and the person who lost it had gone .

About 5 yrs ago i was in the pub wi the missus when some guy(well known scumbag and dealer) started givin her grief. He was hammered drunk and would not give up. He started threatening her saying he would attack her when she was alone etc etc etc. I was geting well pissed of but did not want to get into a fight wit him as he was a complete scumbag and was known to be a dangerous type. Anyways over time i got more and more pissed and decided enough was enough and followed him out to the jacks with the intent of having a verbal with him. As he was walking down the stairs his phone rang and as he pulled it from his pocket somethin fell to the floor and he didn realise. i picked it up and realised it was a roll of fifties. Thought to myself here is 3-4 hundred bucks, happy days. Went into cubicle and counted it out..........................1550 euros!! Was funny seeing the look on his face twenty mins later in the pub when he realised what had happened.

    Me-1550 and no guilt!!
    scumbag-nil and ****ting bricks!!

Ran over a wallet in my cousins front garden with the lawnmower, I picked it up and found a load of soggy 50's stuck together, i couldn't believe my luck.

I ran into the house to separate and count it but as i ran in i bumped into my cousin's housemate, he saw it and took it off me and pulled out his id from it in front of me, then gave me 50 and sent me back to cut the grass:(

My cousin rang me later to tell me i found 3500

Found a 50 in Tesco in rathmines. The manager was standing right beside it when it was on the floor. I pretended to be looking at biscuits until he left. I scooped it up and bought a load of booze and fags because I was going to a concert the next day.

Also found a birthday card with £10 in it.
Another time I found £10 pound in Dunnes, then me Ma made me buy my schoolbag out of it :(

Im pretty sure ive lost more than I found over the years

I think the most I've found in one go was €20 in Croke Park.

One time me and a bunch of friends were sitting in a park in dublin, leaning up against a hedge. We were there for about a half an hour when this guy come up to us and told us to get out of the way, he reached into the hedge and took of a huge wad of 50's in a plastic bag. "Yez missed out der lads" Scummy drug dealer.

Amateur. The correct course of action was to take her shoe shopping. That way you get to keep the remaining €50. But you were greedy and now you have nothing.

The most iv found is about 20euro. I used to work in a shop and every few weeks i would brush under the shelves and find a few euro. I used have the job of taking off the heads of the papers before the shop closed so they could get the money back for unsold papers, this same lad would call into me and take lets say about ten euro worth of papers and would give me 2 or 3 euro for them, handy money he was a sound guy.
