Think I might be going in June to Gothenburg....anyone have any tips on where to go what to do?! Would be interested in doing any day trips to other parts of Sweden if anyone knows anything like that!? Don't know much about Sweden at all....have free accomo over there for a few days so decided might as well put it to use!

Check out Oslo if you get the chance.

I was in Gothenberg last weekend, second time there. Didn't get to see much of it during the day as I was working but I can tell you that the nightlife is great! It really only gets busy around 12 but then there is a serious buzz on the streets. Friday and Saturday nights are the best. There are some really good restaurants on Avenue (the main street) and some cool bars. If you're into rock/metal, check out Rock Baren just off Avenue.
There is a really cool fish market with a great restaurant called Fiske Kirke, worth checking out.

Its a cracking city. Going back myself in May/June. People are sound and all speak English which is good. Museums are free for under 25s if your under that age. The Nefeftiri nightclub is quite good.
Its the complete opposite of Dublin. the Avenue is a bit overrated at night but good during the day.

Thanks for the info....won't be doing much socialising really...apart from a few drinks a couple of evenings cos the person I'm going with is doing a course over there. Will be there Sunday to Thursday. Their accomodation is being paid for so decided I would go along to check out the city. Will be on my own durin the day so if anyone has any worthwhile suggestions of where to go/places to see during the day that would be great. Also what will the weather be like in June!? Thanks!!!
