    Hi,

We're thinking of going to see Trim Castle Hotel as a potential wedding venue. It has a lot of what we are looking for however the main room seems pretty big. The room supposedly caters for 350 but we would only have 130 max.

I had a look on the net and read that the hotel do cater for smaller weddings and can make the room "appear "smaller.

Just wondering does anyone know how this is done (partitions etc), have they there at a small wedding etc.
Just trying to get an idea before I go out - expectation setting!

I djed there at the weekend just gone after a band called Beatclub and I have to say I thought the room was fine. I would have thought there were no more than 140 or so there. It was even difficult setting up as there was a table in the corner right where the dj goes that was sorta in the way. It's a very nice venue and I would have no qualms about using it. The room was called the Great Hall by the way.

I've been to a couple of functions in it, birthdays, black tie balls and the like, they pull a partition across the main function room but the bar overlooking the castle is still accessible on both sides, and the balcony over the chapel lawn is open too. So basically its the internal wall of the function room that gets closer to the outer wall.
It works really well, there's still great room and depth for the guests to walk around, the dancefloor doesn't dominate, the acoustics aren't hindered, it's not really noticeable that the room has been reduced in size.
