Tinted Windows & NCT

If a car has tinted windows will it pass an NCT? I was looking at a car yesterday and it had tinted windows. Dealer is providing a NCT guarantee. I don’t mind if the windows are tinted or not but wondering if there will be an issue when the NCT has to be done?

It isnt an issue for now, as it will not affect the NCT but there are talks of them trying to bring in restictions on window tinting and loud exhausts.

it will deffoe have no bearing on the NCT.

i recently put through an avensis with very light tints all round and also an 04 civic with limo tint all round and both went through perfect!

worse case is if they change the law and the fron two windows are too dark, you will have to remove the drivers side and passenger side tints and leave the standard glass or put on a different shade of tint that allows 65% light through.
