    Hi all,

I'm in the process of starting an online business, it's nearly set for launch but I am looking for your feedback and opinions on the website in general, how user-friendly it is, etc.
The website is a Buy & Sell, where you can list items at a fixed price or auction if you prefer.

I know many of us are fed-up with ebay at this stage, their commission percentages etc, and also how difficult and packed their site seems to be.

It would be lovely if some of you could help fill the website, of course you can list items for sale free of charge, we are running this offer for a limited amount of time.

The website is located at www.spiremart.com
I hope you guys can contribute!

    Many thanks!
    David.

very impressive - but a little flat..... its similar to Buy and sell and other similar sites.

    I like the secondary site gadgets/gizmo's .

have you made arrangements for sales (ie. are you charging a fixed or percentage of sale fee, do you have a merchant account set up with your bank or sales through paypal/mastercard/laser).

are there varying options for sales: (ie. Premium ad - highlighted/boxed advert, bold text)

security measures to stop hacking/phishing - people need to know their details are safe when they deal with an online site.

Still a nice site !! (Best of luck with it)

    Hi!

Thanks for your comments! I appreciate it

We're using PayPal at the moment, but we will more than likely also accept laser cards if it goes well.

There are varying options, please feel free to list something for sale, we would love to get the site filled and active before the official launch.

We have done several security checks on the site, and its looking good.
Thats one of the reasons we chose PayPal to be the payment gateway, as this is a well known company and used by many people.

Thanks for your comments on the gadget site! Thats our sister company, Gadget Ireland.
    Thanks again!

Oh, I forgot to mention that the listing fee starts off at a fixed price of 15 cent for the auction, and 40 cent for the buy it now. It doesn't matter whether you are selling a house or a teddy bear, it will still only cost 15 cent.

Also the commission fees are much cheaper than ebays and other similar sites, obviously we are targeting the Irish market, but are open to worldwide.
Its nice to have an Irish based auction site though.

Although this is a good idea, it is technically spam. You should contact one of the Admins about advertising in general. Vexorg is the man to see, I think.
