We have to pick our subjects for Leaving Cert soon but we can only take 7 subjects and I'd like to have 8 or 9. Are you allowed study some subjects at home and then come in at the end of the two years and just do the exam in the hall?

you can sit as many subjects as you want, excluding of course the subjects that are timetabled in the lc exam together, and you cant do physics or chemistry if you are doing joint physics and chemistry! and the same applies to economics and agricultural economics, you can only do one! once you are registered to sit them exams the papers will be in your school, even if you are th eonly one doing that subject!

just check the leaving cert timetanle on www.examinations.ie and you will see what subjects are examined at the same time, obvioulsy you cant do 2 that are on at the same time but other than that you are fine and most of the mainstream subjects dont clash with anything, its just the lower uptake subjects like classics and latin and so on!

You can do two subjects which are timetabled at the same time. You simply have to sit them one after the other and aren't allowed to leave in the break (obviously they give you a break).

Otherwise... see my response on the other thread. This is why we don't post the same question on numerous threads...

Some subjects require field work or the like to be validated as your own unassisted work by a teacher. If you do it yourself and just present a finished report a teacher will not be able to sign a (legally binding) document saying it is your work.
