Anyone with an thought on the engines, problems of any kind, spec etc, i'd love to hear some comments??

    Cheers

That's not high mileage on the diesel one ;)

We had a 2.0Tdi A3 (2004 model) with nearly 200,000km earlier this year and it was still driving perfectly.

Out of those 2, it's no a hard decision to make. 2.0tdi all the way

I'd go for the 2.0 TDI if it was me.

I've been looking at A3's for months now as i'm thinking of going for one. That diesel looks in good nick, and isn't priced too shabily either tbh. MPG with the diesel is 55mpg (combined), as opposed to 41pmg for the 1.6. Its also considerably more powerful, 140 bhp compared to the 1.6's 101bhp. Over twice as much torque as well.

And 65,000 miles on this engine wouldn't really be considered as too 'high' either, for a 4 year old.

No brainer if you ask me! :pac:

Avoid that 1.6 (I assume it's non-FSI variant) like the black death. It's awful.

The 2.0 there also has the much nicer spec (Ambition / Sports), with the upgraded wheels too.... that car would have been €40-43k or thereabouts new!

Mileage isn't that high either, it is 4 years old after all.

    Cheers
