hi, not sure if i have this in the right place but sure ill give it a go!
i have a sony handycam DCR-HC24E. it saves the video on a tape. i want to download the video to my laptop. i tried doing the same before and it was only saving short segments of the video instead of downloading the whole lot. now when i connect the camera to the laptop, it wont register. like it appears in the bottom right corner that a camera has been connected but i cant seem to access it anywhere. i have the software installed for viewing the video and copying it, but it just doesnt seem to register in it that the camera is connected. it has be baffled

anybody any suggestions/ideas??
