iTunes - Streaming Video?

I've done some Google searches, and I can't seem to come up with a definitive answer or solution. I've 2 Macs. One is my iMac, which is set up as my main iTunes server, with an external HD for movies and music. This is connected, wirelessly, to the router downstairs.

Downstairs, there is an Apple TV. This streams video fine from the iMac.

My problem is that I can't find anyway to stream from my iMac to my Macbook. I can stream music, without a bother, but I just can't seem to see any option for video.

Is there any way to get this set up, as it'd be quite handy.

But assuming your Macbook and iMac are networked, cant you just open any file that's on your iMac HD from your Macbook - using iTunes or not, whether it be audio, video or text etc?

It's erratic. I tried a shared folder, and it showed the folder but no items in that. The only way I could really do it was to used the default public folder but that consists of me copying files from one folder to another, and is space wasting.

I think you'll have to enable 'administrator' access on the iMac and log in as that administrator on your Macbook. I can't remember exactly what I did myself, but I can view every file (plus connected hard drives etc) on my iMac from my Macbook.
