    Hello,

Anyone knows if any copy machine in the library has an option to scan into PDF file and send the file by e-mail? I'm particularly interested in Berkeley and Lecky. If so, would such scanning still cost me?

Thanks very much in advance for help- much appreciated!

    Not sure about the BLU.
I know in the hamilton there's a PC with a scanner connected. Anyone can use it to scan a document to PDF, JPG or whatever.
Presumably if they have it in the Hamilton, they'll have it in the BLU

Also, most computer rooms have a dedicated scanning computer with a scanner attached. Again you can scan to whatever format you like.

The computers tend not to have internet access so they dont end up being hogged by people arsing about online.
This does mean you have to scan to a file, save the file to a memory key and move to a computer that has internet to email it.

There is a scanner in the Iveagh Hall, Berkeley Library - ask the Duty Librarian if you're not sure where it is. There is no charge to use it.

Thanks for the info about scanners, but is there any COPY MACHINE, COPIER with the function to scan? I'm asking about that, because with copy machine it's much, much quicker to scan.

Scanning book in the computer room is a great idea, I never thought of it.

It's not particularly useful. To get the book to a computer room you have to be able to check it out, while the inability to take it out is likely what the scanning is to circumvent.

you could of course search online and find a pdf version of the book. Places like scribd.com or even google books could have a copy.
