Presta adapter

My friend taught me how to fix a puncture a couple of months ago. At the time, she also got me to buy a repair kit and a spare inner tube.

My bike now has a puncture and I replaced the tube with the new one because it was a really bad puncture. However, according to google I now have a presta tube which has a really point bit that won't fit into my pump.

I've googled and I know an adaptor can be bought but I don't know where!

I live and work in Dublin city centre so it would be great if someone had any idea where to get an adaptor!!!

just go in and ask for a presta adapter

These have gone up in price since I last got a few, I paid 75p for them but they are now £1.99

Same, I got mine on Wiggle for €1 delivered but they are no longer to been seen there!

Are you sure it won't fit your pump? Most bike pumps can do either valve - usually you just have to unscrew a cap on the pump head and flip the part the valve slots into. Would save you a couple of quid and a trip to the bike shop.

I have an old style pumps cause i don't trust the new ones!

Got an adapter, only 2 euro!

However, now an even sillier question, when I pumped it up and tried to put on the cap all of the air start coming out. Can you leave the cap off? or do you have to get a special cap? I work in a school and if it's that easy to take the air of of my tyres I'll have a flat every day!:rolleyes:

After taking off the adaptor, close the little nut on the end of the valve before putting on the cap.
