    Quite a funny read!

I would assume they got a different translator in to do the DVD?

I don't understand why there was a need for change the original subtitles anyways..

F*ck's SAKE. Has anyone gotten a copy of the DVD yet (or even a release date)? I presume we'll have the same problem with the subtitles in Ireland?

Don't get too upset yet guys. Consider that Let The Right One In is only just getting a full cinema release in the UK & Ireland in April, you'll probably have the chance to see it on the big screen before it's released on DVD here. Also keep in mind that the film is being released by different companies in the US and UK markets, so it's not to say that we'll be getting the same messed up subtitles here either.

I didn't realise it was going to get a full release here, must go see it again. :D

Take a quick read of this. The company who released the film in the states are printing new DVDs with theatrical subtitles, rather than the new translation, but if you've already bought the film, then you're a bit out of luck.

So glad I hadn't gotten around to ordering the R1 yet.

That's excellent news. Didn't know it was getting a full theatrical release here.

Ah crapola! I've just checked and the copy I acquired had the wrong subtitles. No wonder i didn't understand why people liked the movie so much. I thought it was really dull and now it's been ruined for me.

I think it gets a cinema release in Ireland on April 10th.

Any IFI members here? Check your email... :D

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Incase anyone doesnt know the theatrical subtitles are floating around the net so if you've got the dvd you could add those to it. Not perfect but in the interim it'll do I suppose.

Hah, that's what I was thinking myself. Swedish isn't that difficult to understand anyway.

Thanks for the link ; we're doing subtitling in my Translation Studies class and this is a really good example

You'd be surprised at how much Swedish you can pick up reading subtitles unfortunately you can't always use what you learn in polite company.

The Blu Ray has the correct subs so I'm assuming it's the same for the DVD.
