"All this has happened before and will happen again"

Are they leaving the door open for a BSG sequel?

I'd rather they did a 'Kobol' series.

Aren't we supposed to be the sequel, shortly to be overrun by Sony robot mutts and automated hoovers? :p

Yup, the glory days of Kobol, leading up to the exodus and founding of the colonies, including the lost 13th cylon colony, could be pretty groovy, could be more compelling than the Caprica idea.
I mean, really, Caprica, I have visions of looking at everyone in the show and thinking "Do you have life insurance? Well don't bother, HA HA!".

I'd have preferred a prequel based on the first cylon war*.

    * That was until they introduced* the old centurions in Razor as an homage to the original series. They look ridiculous.

    * I realise they were shown in the museum in the mini-series. However a one-off, motionless nod to the original show isn't the same as a full-blown live action display of being part of the canon.

They were in the finale of BSG too. :)

I hope the automated hoovers evolve to look like Six.

I know that, but they were already introduced at that point.

Or just repeating a mantra of the show from it's very begining and every other episode since.

In essence, it was a ham-fisted way of saying ''don't fall into the mistakes of the past''.

It was meant to be ambigious in the sense it's left up to 'us' what happens next, not that they were angling for Battlestar Earth.

A stretch but..... what if Anders doesnt go into the sun, but rather mothballs/repairs Galactica on the otherside of the sun.
Against the day the Cylons return...

Kick off a new Cylon war in a few years

well that'd properly feck everyone on earth, they've all essentially gone hippy-native, it'd be a slaughter, even with a new battlestar, plus the headsix and headbaltar said everyone's lives would be less eventful

Considering man is still on Earth 2.0 150,000 years later, its along time to have Galactica in mothballs to be honest especially considering the condition it was in.

    Not a chance.
The only place the world of Battlesta Galactica goes from here is backwards into its own timeline, not to some sort of Independence Day conflict.

It's over, let's just accept that and look forward to The Plan and Caprica, which is what is coming.

Sequel, prequel... the BSG timeline is so twisted, who knows.

I don't want a direct sequel because in my eyes the story is over we can only backtrack at this stage.

I would love to see maybe a series or mini-series based on the original cylon war like the razor flashbacks which were done really well. Seeing a colonial fleet duke it out with a cylon fleet would be amazing. I'd also love to see the guy who played Adama in the razor flashbacks to play him again, he was great and it would be cool to see even further into the old mans life.
