hi all, have been on ntl analogue for a while and am thinking it might be time to go digital.

Currently my monthly bill is as follows:
    Basic Tv 24.50
    Extra points 7
    Broadband express 32

Total €63.50 per month. Altho i only actually need one extra point not two so i need to get that cut off

If i change digital basic and dvr am i right in thinking my bill would be like this:

    Basic digital 20.00
Multi room 8.50 (need it for the bedroom)
Broadband value 22 ( i dont need express really)
    DVR 5

Total €55.50 per month, plus sport or anything if i want to add it.

Or even if i change to digital will i still have to pay the basic analogue service? and with the multiroom digital is there a box in each room (im assuming so)

    thanks

IIRC they'll only give you 4 digital extensions. I also *think* it's 8.50 per room for multiroom, not 8.50.

You still pay analogue as you still get it, which admitedly is handy for taping one channel while watching another where possible.

No he's mistaken. If you get digital, you get analogue included so the 20 for basic is cheaper than analogue.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but you have "DVR 5" written below. Is that not 5 DVRs?

EDIT: 5 for DVR, not 5 DVRs. :o

yeah reading around the net it seems that if i switch to digital i dont pay the analgue aswell

do they turn the analogue off? if they dont itd be handy, i could not bother with the multiroom as analogue would be fine for the bedroom

No they don't. They will at some time in the future but it hasn't been announced yet.

You absolutely, definitely get analogue as well as digital fro 20 euro. :)

The digital basic pack includes analogue for free. So you could possibly just get digital in the main room, and use the analogue in the other rooms. That would remove the need for any multi room subs.

No you wont have a seperate digital box along with the DVR, The DVR & digital tv will all be just one box...its technically a modem, phone service, DVR and digital TV box all in one but UPC only use it for its digital and dvr capabilities at the moment.

If I have a DVR in one room (which costs 5 Euro extra on top of the 20 Euro I pay for) and want a second DVR in another room which I am paying 8.50 Euro for multi room, do they charge a fiver extra on top of the multi room subscription? Is it a fiver extra per DVR?

When the DVR first launched it was limited to one per household. If that restriction is gone I would assume that it is a €5 charge for each box per month.
