hi all,im wondering if anybody knows what the gym at the aquatic centre in Blanchardstown is like,i havent gotten around to checking the place out yet,but at €495 compared to atleast 200 euro less in westpoint,im wondering is it worth paying the extra money ?are there any additional benefits at the nac as opposed to westpoint, the larger pool is the only one i know of,

    thanks

    Hey,

I'm a member there for the past year or two.

It's not bad - depending on what you want from a gym I guess.

Usual selection of treadmills and striders, and then the usual arm, chest, leg and back machines.

Free weights area usually has about 3 or 4 people in there and that's close to it's capacity - maybe another 2 could fit in.

There's not usually queues for machines - very occasionally.

All the machines are Pulse and are connected to central computers which store programmes etc. That's kind of handy for keeping track of what you've done and your progress.

With Total Fitness closing nearby there will surely be a few more members in there soon.

Changing rooms are average - I've found better in Carlisle when I was a member there a few years ago.

Main reason I joined was that I work out that way and I was worried about roumers that other gyms were considering closing their pools to save money. I knew that if there was one gym that wouldn't close the pool, it would be them !

Is it worth 200 quid more than Mr Dunnes offering ? I'm not sure - I've never been in Westpoint.

They allow monthly membership, and cancellation without more than a months notice - at least they did when I joined 2 years ago.

What exactly are you after in particular and I'll see if I can answer it.
