    Hi,

Am heading to LA on Monday (if I can get out of the country) and staying in Santa Monica.

We have tickets for an Ice Hockey game at the Staples Center booked, but am having toruble trying to figure out a way of getting there without driving.
Planning on having a few beers at the game, so driving is out.

Anyone know of an easy way to get there and back on public transport?

    Cheers.

You can get the bus from Santa Monica to Hollywood - the 704, there is a change but it's easy to negotiate, and quite a nice trip too as you go through Beverly Hills, it does take about an hour - Go to Metro Trip Planner which will give you directions, the bus drivers are friendly enough if you ask them to tell you where the change. Get off near the Kodak Theatre/Hollywood and Highland Centre - there is a train station below the Hollywood & Highland Centre. The Staples Centre website has directions from there and it seems straight forward enough.

Public Transport is a lot better than it's cracked up to be!!! Go to Trip Advisor and do a search I imagine there'll be more detail there.

    Enjoy.

    Thanks Datk.

Tried the Trip Planner on that site and it's telling me to take the 10...but the map on the timetable for the 10 shows it starting at West Hollywood Library, which is nowhere near santa monica itself.

    Tis all very confusing!

Thanks for your help. Will figure it out!
