Some Mazda dealers in Ireland are illegally refusing to honour warranty on parts that were not fitted by a Mazda dealer. Keep us posted!

You will not recieve an instant response from a contact form I'd say.
If you are having no joy after all that, try the legal route. Solicitor letter ect...

Darragh is there any particular reason behind them doing this.Ive a warranty claim coming up for a Mazda we did a year back and hope that theres some reasonable explanation for them not covering warranty.Surely its illegal under block exemption??

I was given the line form Annesley Williams that as my genuine replacement brake hosing (bought from their parts department) had been not been fitted by a mazda trained mechanic, it was not covered uder the warranty. Went up north, showed the reciepts, had it changed no cost, no probs!

The long of the short of my gripe is that 11 months ago an ignition coil burnt out on my RX8, so I had it in with XXX (an mazda repair centre). They screwed up on the order 4 times and it took a month to get my car back, as it took so long Mazda ireland said that they would cover the cost of the repair.
Now the same ignition coil has gone again and the repair centre are saying that because the initial replacement was replaced gratis and because it's a warrenty replacement on a warrenty replacement so to speak, that they would not give a warrenty on it and will charge me for it.

That is out of order in my opinion. They replaced it last time for free (not really as they obviously thought that the monetary value of your time without your car due to their mistake was worth more than the cast of repair). So this has no impact on future warrenty. They are effectively saying that becaused they inconvienced you in the first place, they did a shoddy job at fixing the problem, and didnt sharge you for it, so you arent entitled to a warrenty on a genuine part with genuine labour, because of this!! Tell them they have to honour their companies part and their companies standerd of work by honouring the gaurentee on the parts warrenty.

This sounds like a bad garage, I have a Mazda too and dont want to encounter these guys! please name and shame (or at least send me a PM!)

It is illegal under block exemption rules, but I was in a Mazda dealership two weeks ago and I saw a sign behind the parts counter that said that warranty was void in the event that servicing or maintence was undertaken on the vehicle outside of the Mazda authorised network. I'd have taken a pic of the sign only the owner of the business was standing beside me!

The particular reason you ask about is to illegally protect market share and frighten customers into returning to them for servicing.
